A Frustrating Draw at the Tameside

Craig Mahon’s Nash held at home in infuriating goalless draw against mid-table Celts.

First-Half

Farsley began the game on top as early on, Thomas Allen had an opportunity to maraud forward, latching into his own attempted cross, volleying from range into Cam Mason’s hands. Michael Coulson had a free kick just outside the D, firing low under the wall but into the hands of Cam Mason. Benjamin Atkinson would come closest as he struck the post from mere meters out. Craig Mahon would bring the hosts’ first chance as he swung in a corner from the left for Jimmy Spencer to loop a header just over. Normal service would resume for Farsley as Jordan Carroll headed the ball across goal for Michael Coulson, who nods onto the crossbar from inside the six-yard box, another golden chance missed. Jimmy Spencer would have the next Nash chance as he is seen through on goal, blasting an effort over the bar. Not long after, Stefan Mols cut inside from the right, hitting an effort towards the near post but was palmed away by Zan-Luk Leban in his first save of the game.

Second-Half

The Nash began the second half brighter than the first as Jordan Richards curled a low free kick around the wall towards goal, pushed away by Zan-Luk Leban. George Waring battled away in midfield, affording some space midway through the Celts half, laying a ball through for Jimmy Spencer, who’s unable to beat the onrushing Zan-Luk Leban. Jordan Carroll set up Farsley’s first chance of the half as the winger laid the ball across for Celts captain Conor Branson, bending an effort millimetres wide of Cam Mason’s right post. Jimmy Spencer would be on the end of yet another cross, looping a header just wide of the Celts’ goal. Rhys Hughes had a free-kick from about twenty-five yards out, bending an effort towards the bottom right corner, saved yet again by Zan-Luk Leban. Jimmy Spencer had another chance to put the Nash ahead as he weaved his way into space outside the area, hitting an effort towards the bottom left corner, stopped by Zan-Luk Leban. Clayton Donaldson would have the final chance right at the end as he beat George Waring midway through the Nash half, entering the box & firing low but unable to beat Cam Mason who stopped him brilliantly.
